    1. I think we live in the same general region. This dusting came as a complete surprise to me! I hope the peas don't mind.

  2. Brrrr! Looks like a cozy-by-the-fire-day! Because of our move, this will be my first year not gardening in about 30 years! Your blog will be a valuable outlet for me!

    1. The fire is a-crackling, but now the sun is out, the snow is melting and my house is 80 degrees! Oh, life in the San Juans. If you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes.

    2. Becky, let me know if there is anything you want me to grow. I would love to have a corner to honor your beautiful gardens of the past. XO

  5. I know that most people are probably shuddering at that image and dreaming of sunny skies, but I still can't help feeling jealous. We've been in West Texas for five years now and we have our fill of almost daily sunny skies, but those cold, grey days are always in my dreams.

    1. The beauty is that we were lucky enough to have both today. The morning was gray and cold, this afternoon is sunny and clear. Just when I was going to start complaining about the weather, it turned around on me!

    1. My little ones wanted to be out in the snow ASAP. It is a bit of a special treat here and this dusting won't last until the night. I AM dreaming of summer though. :)

  7. Wow, does it snow very often in the San Juans? I lived in Seattle for about a year, and I remember hearing that when it does snow, the whole city shuts down! My garden is covered in snow, and it will be weeks before I can even turn over the soil!

    1. We do not get a lot of snow. Usually only once or twice a winter, for a couple of days, the ground will be white. Every two years or so we get one good one and it shuts us down. I planted this weekend and I am hoping they survive.
